Criteria for Accepting Nominations for SEELS Top 100 Outstanding Teacher Award

Confidence and Contribution:

We embarked on journeys to foreign lands as migrants, driven by our love for family, and have since emerged as key contributors to our home countries' economies. As mothers and fathers, we've established bicultural families, nurturing environments rich with understanding and growth. In our roles as educators in Japan, we have not only adapted but also innovated, developing teaching methods and strategies that elevate our status to that of entrepreneurs and philanthropists. This transformative work has significantly enhanced the educational development of children. As a distinct collective within society, united through Seels Teachers Academy, we have established our own unique pedestal. In celebration of International Teachers Month, Seels Teachers Academy is proud to honor these educators with the Top 100 Outstanding Teachers Award, bestowing upon them the highest honors and global recognition for their unparalleled contributions.

Commitment to Educational Foundations and Philosophy:

This award highlights the essential role of rigorous educational training in cultivating skilled teachers. It celebrates educators who, as critical assets to their institutions, consistently maintain the highest standards of teaching. In a time where numerous social media ads promote hiring untrained teachers, it is imperative that we confront and mitigate these practices that undermine the educational foundations our profession relies upon. By doing so, we uphold the integrity of our field and ensure that schools and educational institutions continue to serve parents, the community, and society by employing proficient, well-trained teachers.

Collaboration and Support Among Educators:

In an era when early childhood after-school programs often resemble mere holding areas for children, and teacher training is predominantly oriented towards profit, we recognize the profound influence of foundational early education on a child's lifelong development. Committed to creating meaningful alternatives, we support our alumni and partners in launching their own school programs that embody innovative and experiential learning models. This initiative not only broadens the educational landscape but also enables educators to make significant, lasting impacts on their students. Furthermore, this award symbolizes our commitment to assisting our fellow educators in their endeavors to establish alternative schools, thereby advancing our collective mission to revolutionize educational methods and outcomes for early learners.

"If you have to put someone on a pedestal, put teachers. They are society’s heroes" - Dr. Arpita Suhadarshinee

Award Funding and Nominee Contributions

As a social enterprise, Seels Teachers Academy is committed to supporting educators from less privileged backgrounds who may be nominated for awards. To ensure fairness among all nominees, the investment required to receive this distinguished award will be shared equally by all who accept their nominations. The Award Committee Secretariat will carefully determine the equitable contribution cost, which will be considered an essential criterion for award issuance. This approach ensures that all nominated educators can participate on equal footing, reflecting our commitment to inclusivity and fairness in recognizing excellence.

Allocation of Generated Funds:
